The Enzo Mari triad represents the qualities of a design: art, problem-solving and production. I was assigned to pick a random object and try to approach each end of the spectrum 100%. I chose the Savonarola chair.

Brief explanation for the projects:
Falo dele Vanita
This artistically centered project was inspired by the history of the Savonarola chair. The priest after which the chair was named, used to hold events where people came to burn “vanities”, precious objects.
SavonaRoll
The functional approach transforms the seat, giving it an additional aerodynamic role. Having changed the frame of the chair as well, Savonarola turned into a sled.
SR-prd04
This reinterpretation that focuses on the easier production and assembly of the chair, used the maccano mechanism. Simple two metal U-shaped rods, fastened by four crossed plates. In between, the material is hung for sitting.
